Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Media Strategy & Operations to lead our media planning, execution, and innovation efforts. This role will be instrumental in shaping our media approach across traditional, digital, and emerging platforms, while also strengthening internal processes and filling key operational gaps. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with a passion for media innovation and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead exploration and adoption of new media strategies, including AI tools and emerging vendor technologies.

  • Develop and oversee media strategies that maximize ROI.

  • Stay ahead of evolving media trends and translate insights into actionable plans.

Functional Expertise

  • Agency background/experience with hands-on media planning and buying.

  • Experience with both traditional and digital media channels.

  • Established network of local and regional media partners.

  • Ability to place and manage media campaigns within platforms like Meta.

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive market research and develop strategic insights.

  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

  • Detail-oriented in planning, execution, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Proactive and collaborative team player.

  • Steady, solutions-focused attitude.

  • Experience mentoring and managing a team.

  • Understanding of current and evolving media trends.

  • Preferably has experience with the use of AI in media/campaigns.

Operational & Leadership Support

  • Identify gaps in current media partners and propose enhancements for client services.

  • Partner with leadership to streamline media performance tracking and reporting tools.

  • Support creative placement across media platforms to ensure continuity and coverage.

  • Review vendor capabilities and ensure we are leveraging the full potential of our partnerships.

  • Collaborate with internal leadership team to ensure media strategies align with broader business goals.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, and operations.

  • Proven track record in both traditional and digital media environments.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience managing teams and mentoring talent.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application in media.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, budget-conscious environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in agency or consultancy settings.

  • Experience with media performance tools and dashboards.

  • Exposure to vendor management and capability assessments.
