On the third Thursday of every quarter, companies all across the country celebrate Get to Know Your Customers Day.

It presents an awesome call to action for organizations in every industry to set aside dedicated time to get to know their most important stakeholders – and what’s better for business than that?!


For those clever minds out there who want to use Get to Know Your Customers Day to help build stronger customer relationships, we’ve got a few ideas on where to start:

1.     Stay Engaged.

Keep up with your customers, in person, over the phone, via text or email, even on social media –- whatever it takes. Being responsive will make your customers feel important and it will contribute to a positive experience all around.

2.     Be Proactive.

You should be the one reaching out to your customers, not the other way around. Too many businesses wait to connect until their customers are reaching out with comments or complaints. It’s important to remind them (often!) that they’re important to you and your business before an issue prompts them to call you.

3.     Do Your Research.

Truly understanding your customers is the only way you’ll ever be able to really meet their needs. Figure out what makes them tick and what makes them happy (and sometimes, even what makes them NOT so happy…).
